On August 15, 2011, Communauto, Hydro-Québec and Nissan Canada announced the commissioning of the biggest fleet of all-electric vehicles available in self-service in North America. The rollout of this fleet, which will include 50 Nissan LEAF vehicles, 15 of which have been available since August 15, will extend up to the beginning of 2012.

“We are delighted at this announcement, which will certainly generate enthusiasm among Communauto’s clientele. “Since the environment occupies an important place in all our activities, we have participated, from the very beginning of this project, in the discussion table on management of charging stations for electric cars. Everything is in place to accommodate the new vehicles,” declared Charles Auger, General Manager of Stationnement de Montréal.

Communauto’s users will find the two electric vehicles in the Stationnement de Montréal parking lot, located at the intersection of Rue Saint-André and Rue Bélanger.

Stationnement de Montréal has contributed to Communauto’s success since 1995, offering 184 of its parking spaces to date.
